Privacy policy.

This is a pre-launch privacy policy. Qirata is in early access and this document will evolve as the product and our data practices mature. Questions? privacy@qirata.com.

What data we collect

When you use Qirata, we collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information — your email address and any profile details provided during sign-up.
  • Reading activity — the feeds you connect, articles you open, and reading sessions conducted inside the app.
  • Chat content — messages you send in AI-powered conversations about articles, and the responses generated in return.
  • Generated posts — any social posts you create or save using Qirata's creation tools.
  • Usage data — basic interaction logs (pages visited, features used, errors encountered) used to improve the product.

How we use your data

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Qirata service.
  • Personalize your reading experience — syncing feeds, chat history, and saved posts.
  • Power the AI discussion features by sending relevant context to our language-model provider.
  • Improve the product by analyzing usage patterns and error reports in aggregate.
  • Communicate with you about your account, product updates, or support requests.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not serve third-party advertising.

Third-party services

Qirata relies on a small set of third-party services to function:

  • Authentication — session management is handled by Better Auth. Credentials are never stored in plain text.
  • AI / LLM provider — article content and your chat messages may be sent to a language-model provider to power discussion features. The specific provider will be named in a future update to this policy.
  • Infrastructure — the backend runs on managed cloud infrastructure with a PostgreSQL database. Providers are chosen for compliance with standard data-protection requirements.

Data retention

We retain your data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion — request that we delete your account and associated data.
  • Export — request an export of your data in a portable format.
  • Objection — object to specific processing activities where permitted by law.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@qirata.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.

Cookies

Qirata uses a minimal set of cookies: a session cookie for authentication and a theme preference cookie. We do not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy as the product evolves. When significant changes are made, we update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Qirata after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
